Devil Dinosaur is the latest hero added to Marvel Rivals, and the Vanguard character is big, bulky, and a really fun idea for a character in a game full of mostly humanoid fighters. However, the big red dino has one drawback that players have discovered now that he’s on the roster: He is literally too big to fit through the map in some areas.
Fans who are playing the character early are finding that, if you enter areas through a downward staircase, Devil Dinosaur often can’t follow you because his big head keeps him from fitting through the path. So there are areas in different maps that are essentially safe zones from his wrath. Though the clips of players realizing they can’t squeeze through certain pathways are funny, it does mean that Devil Dinosaur has a pretty significant downside that is easily exploitable by your enemies. I can’t imagine Rivals developer NetEase meant for this to be the case, so I’m curious if the team ends up patching this somehow, whether by making him smaller or giving him some kind of crouch ability.
We’ve reached out to the studio for comment and will update the story if we hear back.

Despite his giant head, Devil Dinosaur has been a pretty fun character to see fans experiment with. He has a few weird quirks, such as his melee being mapped to his back, rather than in front of him like most characters, so he basically is twerking on fools while slamming them with his tail.

His dialogue is also a series of roars and grunts, so we get delightful interactions like this one with Jeff the Land Shark:

He also has a team-up ability with the Punisher that lets the gunslinger ride on his back, so it definitely feels like Rivals is leaning into the game’s silly side with him.
Devil Dinosaur is the 50th hero in Marvel Rivals, and while he is relatively niche compared to the Spider-Mans of the Marvel Universe, he does have a sizable fanbase, especially from his comic runs teaming up with child prodigy Moon Girl. However, Moon Girl doesn’t appear as a playable character in Rivals, and according to leaker Miller Ross, this decision was likely made because having a child combatant on the battlefield could have affected age ratings. Despite this, Moon Girl will be part of Devil Dinosaur’s lore and have voice lines in the game when the hero joins the roster in season eight, which starts tomorrow, May 15.
