Following Summer Game Fest, Nintendo has come in fashionably late to wrap up not-E3-weekend with a presentation of its own. Today’s lengthy Nintendo Direct showed off new games coming to the Switch and Switch 2, and if you weren’t able to catch the stream live, you can watch it below. For those who just want the highlights, read on.
Rhythm Heaven Groove
Kicking off the show is Rhythm Heaven Groove, the next entry in the eclectic rhythm-based mini-game collection. The Switch release will include 80 new games, including a rhythmic turn-based battle game. Groove will also include over 30 multiplayer games that are both cooperative and competitive. It’s coming to Switch on July 2.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Capcom’s long-awaited new Onimusha game is coming to Switch 2, and will launch on the system on September 25.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen
Capcom is also bringing Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, an expanded version of the 2024 action-RPG sequel, to Switch 2 on October 9.
A few quick hits
Shift Up is bringing Stellar Blade to Switch 2 later this year, we got a new look at anime-inspired co-op game Orbitals, and Ubisoft showed off the Rayman Legends Retold remake.
Big Walk
Big Walk, the walk-and-talk co-op game from the Untitled Goose Game team, is coming to Switch 2 on August 4.
One Piece: Grand Gourmet
One Piece: Grand Gourmet is a restaurant management sim that lets you work with the cast of the popular anime and manga franchise. It’s coming to Switch and Switch 2 on October 23, and will support mouse controls on the latter.
Pokémon Pokopia
The delightful Pokémon life sim is getting a free update that lets you use the Dive ability to hang out on the sea floor and create towns underwater. The game is also getting an expansion pass that will bring new stuff to the game across the next year. The first paid update, Bubbly Basin, will launch in August, bringing a new area and additional Pokémon to your towns.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
Next we saw a character showcase for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, the next entry in the tactical RPG series. The game will come to Switch 2 on September 17.
Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet
The “first part” of open-world co-op game Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet is launching on Switch 2 in spring 2027.
DK Challenge and Donkey Kong Bananza
Nintendo Switch Online is hosting a Donkey Kong “Challenge Event,” breaking out bits from various Donkey Kong games into a gauntlet of challenges that you can tackle from today until September 1. Donkey Kong Bananza is also doing a limited-time collaboration with the Mario Bros. series as part of its 40th anniversary, introducing skins and challenges based on the series to the Switch 2 hit.
Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton
Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton is the next game from the Vampire Survivors devs. Based on the titular anime/manga franchise, it features over 20 playable characters from across the series. It’s coming to Switch 2 later this year.
Quick hits
Next we got a few more quick hits from a bunch of more “challenging” games coming to Switch 2, with Lords of the Fallen II coming this fall, Lies of P: Complete Edition coming on August 6, Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition launching on June 23, and Muramasa: Revanant Blades coming to Switch 2 in early 2027.
Xenoblade Chronicles
Switch 2 editions of the Xenoblade Chronicles games are coming out with “enhanced resolution and framerate” and new features across all three games. The Switch 2 edition of Xenoblade Chronicles will be available later today on the eShop, with the second game’s updated version launching on July 30, and the third arriving on December 3.
Xenoblade Genesis
It wasn’t all old Xenoblade games, though, as we also got a look at Xenoblade Genesis, the next entry in the series coming in 2027.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort
The Switch 2 is getting a new entry in the Nintendo Switch Sports series, which will feature motion-controlled versions of boxing, table tennis, archery, tennis, volleyball, bowling, basketball, golf, thumb wrestling, skateboarding, power cruising, prop plane flying, and jump rope. It’s coming out on October 22.
Runescape: Dragonwilds
Runescape: Dragonwilds, the upcoming fantasy survival RPG, is coming to Switch 2 on September 15.
More quick hits
Hello Kitty Party Land is a Mario Party-like game starring Sanrio characters coming to Switch and Switch 2 on October 29. Star Fox already got a big Direct earlier this year, so the Switch 2 Star Fox 64 remake only got a few seconds of spotlight in today’s show ahead of its June 25 launch. A demo is available on the eShop.
Final Fantasy Resonance
A new Final Fantasy game called Resonance is the series’ first HD-2D entry, and the turn-based RPG will allow you to summon characters from other Final Fantasy games, such as FF7‘s Cloud Strife, when it launches on Switch and Switch 2 on October 22.
Pikuniku 2
The sequel to the absurdist puzzler is coming to Switch 2 next year.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World is the latest spin-off in Square’s long-running RPG series, and it’s coming to Switch and Switch 2 on December 3.
The Duskbloods
It’s been a minute since we saw The Duskbloods, the upcoming Switch 2 exclusive from Dark Souls developer FromSoftware, but we did get a quick trailer before the studio announced it would be holding a closed network test for the game later this summer.
Splatoon Raiders
Next we saw a new trailer for Splatoon Raiders, the upcoming single-player Splatoon game that will have you traveling across multiple islands while treasure hunting and covering some baddies in ink. The game will get its own dedicated Direct on June 30, and the Nintendo Today app will be posting daily comics based on the game in the lead-up to launch on July 23.
Deltarune
Toby Fox and friends showed off Deltarune‘s upcoming fifth chapter, which will launch on June 24.
Metaphor: ReFantazio
Oh look, 2024’s Game of the Year is coming to Switch 2. Metaphor: ReFantazio, the political fantasy RPG by Atlus’ Persona team, is coming to Switch 2 on November 12. They said “fuck Grand Theft Auto 6.”
Minecraft
Minecraft is getting a dedicated Switch 2 port which will allow you to import Nintendo Switch worlds. The port will launch sometime in 2026.

Kingdom Hearts
The Kingdom Hearts collections are coming to Switch 2 as native collections, rather than the streaming options that were available on the original Switch. These collections will launch on October 8, and will support save file transfers from the cloud versions.
Kingdom Hearts IV
Oh…well that’s a surprise. Kingdom Hearts IV has finally come out of hiding with new footage of Sora fighting heartless in the world of Quadratum. It’s coming to Switch 2 at launch, but has no release date.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Wrapping up the show is the long-rumored remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The game is completely remade from the ground up. We only got a brief teaser trailer showing a young Link, but the game is set to launch later this year, so we’ll surely see more of the game soon.
