Good For Rookies And Veterans
The move from air cooling to watercooling can be daunting for those that haven’t got their feet wet. There are so many kits out there of various sizes, effectiveness and price that it is hard to even know where to start. NZXT is looking to make the migration to an AiO watercooler as easy as possible with their new Kraken Plus 360 RGB. The Guru of 3D installed the kit in less than 20 minutes thanks to the simple design, well labelled and easily installed CPU brackets and simple cable design. The install might take a little longer if you’ve never dealt with a radiator but it shouldn’t be overly frustrating.
The cooling performance is more than sufficient for most builds, though it doesn’t take top spot, while the sound pressure is impressively low. That is great for a first build which uses watercooling or for someone well versed with these type of systems that isn’t planning on heavy overclocks and wants a quiet system. The only detail which might turn off those looking is the 2.1″ square LCD screen on the pump which isn’t big enough to show a lot of detailed information. Then again, it’s not bad at all for a $220 kit.
